Creating responsive environments where light, movement,
and human presence shape perception and connection.

About
I’m Haoren Zhong, an interactive installation artist and creative technologist. I build participatory environments where physical materials, computational systems, and human behavior meet. My installations respond to the people within them, turning technology into a medium for encounter, play, and collective experience.
My practice begins with observing how light and movement shape our perception of space, how human presence transforms an environment, and how people respond to one another within it. I translate these observations into objects and systems, place them back into the world, and watch what unfolds. This cycle—observing, building, sharing, and observing again—is how I use making to explore perception and relationships while creating space for dialogue and connection.
I’m also the Creative and Technical Director of Good People Factory LLC. My work is held in the permanent collection of the Williamsburg Art & Historical Center and has been exhibited at the Clive Davis Gallery in Brooklyn and The Blanc in Manhattan.
