De Light 2026

De Light is a dynamic natural light installation that transforms everyday sunlight into a quiet, immersive experience. Using reflective and refractive materials, the work captures and redirects sunlight into shifting caustic patterns that unfold across interior surfaces. Positioned by the window, a wooden structure resembling ordinary interior furniture subtly shapes how light enters and disperses into the space.

Rather than producing its own illumination, the installation relies entirely on ambient daylight, allowing the work to evolve continuously with time, weather, and season. As visitors move through the space, their presence triggers subtle mechanical movements that alter the angle and tension of reflective surfaces. These shifts interrupt and reshape the light, casting shadows and momentarily transforming the patterns.
